“Incense, an ancient essence of the soul, has journeyed through millennia, suspended between earth and sky. In the rituals of early civilizations, it burned as a sacred offering, carrying dreams and prayers to the divine. We have retraced the paths of incense and selected the most peculiar quality for us, sourced from Somalia. Its fragrance has captivated, pervaded, and intoxicated us…” (travel notes)
The essence of incense is derived from the resin of the Boswellia carterii tree. The best quality comes from Somalia. The harvesting period runs from November to February; during this time, the bark of the trees is incised to allow the resin to drip. After a few days, the resin hardens, forming gum, which is then ready for essential oil extraction.
ENCENS SACRÉ is born from the pursuit of a sublime balance between two olfactory shades of incense: the essence extracted by distillation, with a sweet, mineral, balsamic note, and the essence obtained through high-temperature distillation, offering the true impression of burnt incense, paying homage to the ancient art of fumigation. Supporting this duality, a floral heart of Moroccan Rose and Jasmine, and a warm base of Amber, Patchouli, and Sandalwood.
A complex, intimate, meditative fragrance.”
